Every volunteer makes
a difference

We need your support. People like you, and the local community, help us to do more. Together our work helps to save lives and keep vital services going.
There are lots of ways you can support the Mercy Hospital Foundation, and they all make a difference.

See below for information on how you can help with different types of collections, which are a fundamental part of our fundraising efforts.

Collection volunteering

Thanks to the support of local communities, the Mercy's street and church gate fundraising collections raise tens of thousands of euro each year.

Funds raised through the Mercy University Hospital Foundation are used to support vital services, and to purchase state-of-the-art equipment for a world-class hospital.

We are always looking for people to help us with our collections. If you would like to get involved, please get in touch.

Church gate collections

We need Mercy Church Gate Collectors, can you help us? Money raised supports our vital work in areas such as our Cancer and Teens & Young Adults Appeal.

Local collectors are needed to join us for our Mercy Church Gate Collections. We will supply you with everything you need by sending you a Volunteer Collectors Pack, which consists of a thank you letter, a bank giro (to lodge funds after a collection), branded posters, buckets, and bibs. We also arrange permits, so all you have to do is turn up!

We need collectors in the following areas:
North Cork: Ladysbridge 19th & 20th July
Cork City: Blackrock Road 19th & 20th July
West Cork: Goggins Hill & Ballyheada 27th & 28th July

If you are able to help, please get in touch.

There is also a library where information on cancer and mental health can be accessed, as well as a large kitchen / social area where those visiting the centre can make a cup of tea or coffee while they wait for an appointment or whilst waiting for a loved one.
